Let your imagination fly as you thrill to the spectacular sights of intriguing geothermal formations, jaw-dropping waterfalls, and magnificent canyons. From the ship, it's just a short drive to the airstrip where you'll board your plane. Once up in the air, your pilot will fly over the spectacular Godafoss Waterfall; Lake Myvatn, formed during a massive volcanic eruption 2,300 years ago; the dramatic Vatnajokull Glacier National Park with its white glacier that descends into black sands, hot streams, Iceland's highest mountain and its deepest proglacial lake. Off in the horizon, you'll see the Dettifoss waterfall come into view. With 17,657 feet of water plunging per second over the edge, Dettifoss boasts the greatest volume of any waterfall in Europe. The chaotic canyons and volcanic mountains of Jokulsargljufur National Park beckon next. When you return to the airstrip, you'll visit the Aviation Museum for a look at Iceland's aviation history.
