Live like a local (even if it's for two-and-a-half-hours) when you visit Woldstad Farm. Sitting in the shadow of Kyrkjetaket and Gjuratinden mountains, just outside the village of Isfjorden, it's been in the Woldstad family since 1654 and now consists of 12 buildings, ranging from a boat house to the summer barn and some that date back to the 1500s. When you arrive, you'll receive a warm Norwegian welcome and hear stories of farm life, family history and experience Norwegian culture. The farm's original main barn has been converted into a restaurant, with careful attention given to preserving its original beams and other charming details. Step inside and be treated to tastings such as svele (thick pancake), homemade jams, local cheese, and apple and blueberry pie. After a little instruction, you can try baking your own svele! Before leaving, you can visit the farm shop and local art gallery.
Special Notes:
The transfer to the farm is unguided. The refreshments will vary, depending on availability during the season. There is approximately 10 minutes of walking required on this tour, over uneven ground. Passengers are required to negotiate some steps during the tour.
