Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.
Get a local's insight into the beauty, charm and folklore of the quaint parish of Maghera beginning with a visit to Glenshane Country Farm, a working sheep farm owned by Jamese McCloy, a fourth generation sheep farmer. Perched on scenic Glenshane Pass, the farm overlooks a bucolic landscape of farms, rolling Sperrin Hills and Slemish Mountain, where St. Patrick shepherded as a young man 1,500 years ago. Here, you'll walk the verdant fields and learn first-hand a centuries-old skill as you help Jamese direct his highly trained working dogs to herd a flock of sheep. After saying goodbye you'll continue on to Friels, a fifth generation traditional pub where you'll be rewarded for all your hard work with a hearty lunch of local favorites like beef and Guinness pie or pan seared chicken with leek sauce followed by dessert while enjoying the works of local poet Mick McAtamney.
