The castle, founded in the 12th century by Norman baron Lord Talbot de Malahide, sits on a 268-acre site and features circular towers, a Gothic entrance porch, exquisite Irish period furniture and a brand new interactive exhibition area telling the story of the Talbot family. Continue on through the suburban village of Portmarnock, home of the world-famous Portmarnock Golf Club, en route to Howth, a fishing and yachting port and popular suburban resort on the north side of Howth Head.
