Celebrate life and immerse yourself in the vibrant traditions of Día de los Muertos, the two-day festival that honors the connection between the living and the departed. This approximately four-hour guided tour is perfect for families eager to learn about this ancient Mexican tradition. Held at the Riviera Museum, activities showcase the colorful ofrendas (offerings) of flowers, photographs, and traditional foods placed on altars and designed to stir the spirits of those who have passed. Discover the iconic La Catrina, the elegant skeleton figure that has become a symbol of the holiday and delve into the legends of the underworld Xibalba. Participate in hands-on workshops where children can decorate cookies, adorn a candy skull, and have their face painted in the Día de los Muertos style. After this lively celebration, explore downtown Ensenada to have a bite to eat and search for a Mexican keepsake before returning to the ship.
