Enjoy a close up view of the Trans Alaska Pipeline and a presentation about the history and operation of the pipeline before boarding a train to Gold Dredge 8 where you will see first hand how the dredge worked the gold fields. Enjoy a cruise on the Chena and Tanana rivers aboard an authentic sternwheeler and watch a bush pilot takeoff and land on the surface of the Chena River in a float plane. Along the way you'll make a stop at the home of a late four-time Iditarod champion, meet some winning sled dogs and witness a dog sled demonstration. Next, you'll disembark the sternwheeler for a guided tour through a replication of an Athabascan Indian village, where you will learn in depth about Native Alaskan village life.
