Discover a picturesque town that few have the chance to experience. Haines promises pristine beauty surrounded by abundant wildlife. Your tour begins with a scenic, narrated drive through historic Fort William H. Seward, the first U.S. Army outpost in Alaska and a National Historic Site. You'll stop for photos at Picture Point, which boasts phenomenal views of Haines. Then, travel to the American Bald Eagle Foundation and Raptor Center, an interpretive wildlife display and education center, and learn about these majestic birds and other birds of prey. Next, you'll venture out along the Lutak Inlet where glaciers, towering peaks, rivers and the sea converge. Travel the Chilkoot River Corridor, home to a large population of bears and other wildlife due to the large annual sockeye salmon run. Stop at scenic Chilkoot Lake for a photo opportunity. Before your return trip to the pier, you'll snack on delicious local bites at a private beachside location.
