Breathe in the brisk, fresh air and fill your senses with the beauty of Alaska on a guided nature hike along Battery Point Hiking Trail. Your 3.5-hour excursion begins with a narrated drive through Haines and Fort Seward. Then, you'll travel to Battery Point Hiking Trail, tucked inside 6,000-acre Chilkat State Park, the state's largest park. Once you disembark at the trailhead you'll follow your naturalist guide on a three-hour hike. Marvel at the views as you follow your guide through a centuries-old forest of spruce trees that parallels the shoreline. The rocky forest trail, broken with dense tree roots, leads down to a pebbled beach where you'll stop for lunch. Keep your eyes open - seals, sea lions and even a humpback whale may make an appearance. After lunch you'll hike along the same scenic route, rejoin your transport and travel back to Haines.
