Minimum age is 5 years. The black, gravely sand at Punalu'u Black Sand Beach is soft enough to walk on, but water slippers or shoes are recommended for sensitive feet. No swimming is allowed on this tour. This tour includes walking distances on uneven ground, through sand on the beach, on gravel and rocky ground, and up and down steps inside Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.Please note that in the event of an active lava flow, or an eruption, we will not be able to access certain parts of the park. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park officials have been known to restrict and/or close access to certain parts of the park without prior notice to visitors or tour providers. Refunds are not provided for alterations caused by park restrictions.
