Departing your ship, board a motorcoach to Southgate Pier, where your scenic 50-minute Yarra River cruise begins. Though Melbourne sits on the shores of a vast bay, it was the Yarra River that shaped the city. Once a vital source of food for Indigenous Australians and agriculture for early settlers, today it's a bustling waterway offering a fresh view of the city.
Glide past key landmarks such as the Royal Botanic Gardens (est. 1846) and Melbourne and Olympic Park Sports Precinct, host to major events including the 1956 Olympics and 2006 Commonwealth Games.
After your cruise, rejoin your motorcoach to tour Melbourne's iconic sights. Pass the Princess Theatre, a grand venue for world-class musicals since 1857, the Melbourne Cricket Ground, The Arts Centre, Grand Prix site, and St Patrick's and St Paul's Cathedrals.
Next, stroll through Fitzroy Gardens, home to manicured lawns, shady paths, and Captain Cook's Cottage-originally built in 1755 in Yorkshire, England, and shipped to Melbourne in 1933. This rare 18th-century building honors the explorer who charted Australia's east coast.
Finally, stop for photos at the Shrine of Remembrance, a solemn monument honoring the ANZAC spirit and Victoria's fallen from the Great War.
Return to your ship enriched by Melbourne's vibrant mix of nature, history, and heritage.
