A stroll through two quiet villages followed by a delightful swim in the refreshing waters off Perissa beach makes for a lovely four-hour tour. Visit Megalochori, the largest village on the Santorini plain, renowned for its vineyards. Admire its neo-classical design, whitewashed buildings, cobblestone pathways and domed churches. Stroll into the center square and pick up a bottle of Vinsanto, the locally produced sweet wine. Continue to Emporio Village, the largest settlement in Santorini nestled at the bass of Mt. Prophet Elias. This well-preserved enclave has a medieval atmosphere centered on its 15th century fortress. Note how tightly packed the houses are; this was a safety precaution during the Venetian era. Your final stop is popular Perissa Beach, a seemingly endless stretch of pebbly, black sand. Enjoy free time to swim. Your tour ends with a 10-minute walk down to the cable car station, or you can stay in town and return at your leisure.
Special Notes:
Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, sunscreen and a hat. Expect crowding and long lines at the cable car station.Medical Restriction:
