Travel through time, getting a glimpse into Norway's ancient history, successful present and brilliant future. You'll travel through the rich farmland to Ullandhaug and the Iron Age Farm. Once there, you're instantly transported into the 4th and 5th centuries, when iron implements and weapons were used. You'll tour the restored longhouses on their original sites and see demonstrations of ancient skills. Not far from the farm is Ullandhaug Viewpoint, offering panoramic views of the Jæren countryside and Ryfylke Mountains to the east and of Hafrsfjord to the west. Then, travel to the Petroleum Museum to experience what life is like on a North Sea oil platform and take in a film that traces the development of the oil industry in terms of Stavanger's maritime history. Your tour concludes here, or you can remain in town, perhaps visiting Old Stavanger, with its cobblestone streets and 17th and 18th century wooden buildings.
